About Franklin, New Hampshire

The town of Franklin is the smallest city in New Hampshire and is located in Merrimack County. Located in the Lakes Region of central NH it has a population of 8,680 spread across its 29 square miles and it is situated at the junction of the Pemigewasset and Winnipesaukee rivers where they come together to form the Merrimack River. The town was settled in 1764 and originally known as Pemigewasset Village. Franklin boasts a stable, predictable tax rate coupled with reasonable real estate pricing.  The former mill town is now an attractive location choice for business, industry and prides itself on its sense of community.
